Program: Meals To You
Purpose: Provide free summer meal boxes to eligible students when school is out for the summer.
Who Can Receive Meals
Students may qualify if they:
Are enrolled in a participating school district
Live in rural Alaska during the summer months
Receive free or reduced-price school meals during the school year
Or complete an income eligibility form
If one child qualifies, all children in the household may participate.
What Families Receive
Eligible families receive meal boxes with breakfast and lunch items delivered during the summer months when school is not in session.
Foods are shelf-stable and kid-friendly and may include:
Milk or yogurt
Cereal or whole grain snacks
Fruit cups or juice blends
Shelf-stable vegetables
Canned protein such as chicken or tuna
Cheese sticks or protein snacks

Thank you for checking your student’s backpacks and helping remove items such as old food, spray fragrances, and sugary drinks. We have seen a noticeable decrease in distractions, which helps both students and staff stay focused on learning. Please continue to check backpacks regularly and keep only items that support learning at school.
😴 Getting Enough Rest
As the days get longer and the weather gets warmer, we often see an increase in restlessness. Getting enough sleep is essential for student success. Please ensure your student is getting the rest they need each night to stay focused and ready to learn.

As advised from Teller snow removal, we will not be able to provide transportation to or from the new site today. We will check again around 10 to see if this changes.
James C. Isabell School will have a delayed start Thursday, March 19th. We will start school at 10:30 am, with breakfast starting at 10.
